Rubbish Works is a junk removal and container rental service. They specialize in the removal of old furniture, appliances, garage/basement items and renovation debris. They can assist with the removal of one item or multi-load clean-ups. They recycle or donate over 60% of items they pick up.

Youth In Need

There are yellow boxes in parking lots around the St. Louis/St. Charles areas that take, clothing, shoes, and linens. I found these in a lot of church parking lots and Dierbergs parking lots.

Cell Phones for Soldiers

Provides refurbished cell phones for American soldiers. Visit their website for drop off locations.

CFL Recycling at Home Depot

All Home Depot stores provide recycling for these bulbs for free. There is a box right inside the entrance with bags to put the bulbs in and put them in the box.

Craftster

Swap craft supplies.

You can donate computers, printers, and software to the National Cristina Foundation. Most manufacturers also accept computers for recycling or trade-in.

A great place to give away unwanted items.

Recycled Card Program

Operated by Kids’ Corp., a program for the children at St. Jude’s Ranch to learn entrepreneurship skills, the children participate in making the new cards by removing the front and attaching a new back. The result is a beautiful new card made by the children and volunteers. The benefits are two-fold: customers receive “green” holiday cards for use and the children receive payment for their work and learn the benefits and importance of “going green”.

The Stuff Stop
